My sequel to "Poltergeist". Are you impressed? Well, are you? =P
Koushiro smiled brightly, the beams of the sunset lighting up his face. His arms were around Tentomon, his digimon. And his gaze was aimed towards the rider of Ikakumon's head.
"You NAILED him!" Jyou cheered, raising his arm, a big grin on his face. He seemed so happy.
'Jyou...' Koushiro thought fondly. There was no need to say anything, or to even think anything, it was obvious, the affection that was in his eyes for the older boy. 'Although today was hectic...'
"AAHH!" Koushiro cried as he fell off the bridge, Tentomon barely being able to catch him.
'It was nice...'
Koushiro took his seat next to Jyou on the subway. It was nice to sit down, after walking around for such a long time. His feet were tired, his brain was tired from all the remembrance and information being processed through it today. Although the trip was far from over, sitting next to Jyou seemed to make it worthwhile.
'Because..'
"That was all the money we had in the world!!!" Jyou screamed, raising his arms. Two seconds later he blushed and stormed off to the bathroom, Koushiro smiling at his back. 'He's so cute like that...'
'...I was by your side the whole day. I don't think I've ever been happier.' Koushiro closed his eyes with his content smile on his face.
"Here we are, Odaiva!" Jyou announced, his enthusiasm, for once, miffed Koushiro. 'I wanted to sit here on this nice peaceful spot and ponder this day's events and he woke me up.' Koushiro thought irritably, however when he approached the shore and saw Jyou flash a bright smile at him he could not help but smile back. 'I've never felt this way before..'
"So here we are, Odaiva!" Taichi announced proudly, the brave leader feeling proud of being able to lead his troops effectively.
"Yeah but Myotismon's still out there.." Yamato said thoughtfully, his blue gaze wandering over the sea.
"Yeah that's true..." Taichi said, stopping to think for a minute. "We'll kick his tail!"
Yamato glanced at Taichi irritably, silently cursing Taichi's lack of thought for serious matters.
Jyou smiled and shook his head at the two. "What does it matter? Myotismon's no match for Super Jyou!" Jyou stuck his hands on his hips with his super pose. "Besides, we're home! Let's relax for a while!"
Koushiro almost hit his head at Jyou's comment. "Then how come Super Jyou couldn't even climb the monkey bars without screaming about being afraid of heights..?" Koushiro asked playfully.
Jyou glared at Koushiro, trying not to laugh in spite of himself.
'Even though Super Jyou was my hero...' Koushiro blushed a little. 'These feelings are so weird...'
The troopers started to walk off towards home.
'But nice....I can't remember being so...so..' Trailing behind the others, Jyou was soon walking besides Koushiro, and for a brief moment grabbed his hand and squeezed it gently.
'Happy...'
When Koushiro had showed up back at home, needless to say there was some commotion about him being home so early. Then after awhile, he retreated to his room. He powered up his laptop and was about to run away to his virtual reality when..
"Koushiro! Sweetie! Telephone!" the voice of Koushiro's mother stopped him from his journey to cyber space. He got up irritably, then went to the door to quickly retrieve the cordless phone from his mother, then sat back down at his computer. "Hello?" Koushiro said politely, trying not to sound too annoyed.
"Hi Koushiro!" Jyou's cheerful voice came through the phone, lifting Koushiro's heart up some ten beats.
"Hi!" Koushiro replied with as much cheerfulness. Had it been anyone else, of course, he would of been annoyed. However Jyou was allowed to interrupt him whenever he wanted. Actually, he had wanted this interruption too.
"I'm probably stopping you from logging on to cyberspace.." Jyou chuckled. "But we didn't really get to talk much today while we were busy moving around. That, and I thought you would like the company, now that you're home.." Jyou's voice trailed off. He had no desire to make Koushiro depressed over the subject.
"It's alright, thanks for calling." Koushiro sighed. "It's strange to be home again, actually.."
"Oh?"
"Yeah...I'm not as miserable as what I used to be." Koushiro smiled at the phone. "I don't feel so lonely in my room..."
"That's good, I'm glad you're feeling better." Jyou sounded relieved. "I'd hate to have to march over there in the middle of the night, wake up your parents and you just to make sure you were ok."
"Don't trouble yourself too much, Jyou." Koushiro replied sarcastically.
"Oh it's no trouble, I'd hate to have to bother your parents that's all, but you I don't mind bothering."
"You promise?"
"Huh?"
"To come bother me from time to time I mean?" Koushiro said, hooking up his digital camera to his laptop and downloading the pictures from it.
"I don't need to make a promise to do that.." Jyou replied, listening to the "click click click" of the mouse. "What are you doing anyhow?"
"Uploading your favourite picture." Koushiro teased.
"OH no..."
"Yup." Koushiro started to giggle.
Koushiro had woken up before Jyou had, and for a few moments smiled at his sleeping love. He raised a hand to brush his hair out of Jyou's face, and then realized that Jyou's glasses were in his hand. 'Now that I think of it..' Koushiro gently took the glasses from Jyou's hand. 'I've never seen Jyou without these glasses, except for that time at the baths.' Koushiro's cheeks went red from the memory, especially since at the time he was trying his best not to look.
Koushiro got up and went to the river nearby. (MK: There's always some sort of water body nearby, could it represent-er-nevermind!) He put on Jyou's glasses and looked at his reflection in the water. 'These make me look like a school teacher..'
Jyou was starting to wake up and was performing the usual ritual of raising his hand to his face to put his glasses on. Only, nothing touched his face, and Jyou opened his eyes, held his hand very close to his face and realized that his glasses were not there.
"Looking for something?" a playful, taunting voice asked.
Jyou looked up and saw the blurry image of "Koushiro?" Jyou asked. Then he narrowed his eyes and made out a slightly blurry image of Koushiro smiling at him with a gilded frame on the bridge of his nose.
"You took my glasses!" Jyou said accusingly.
"I wanted to see what it was like to wear them." Koushiro pretended to preen himself in an imaginary mirror.
"I need those to see!" Jyou snarled.
"Come get them from me then." Koushiro daunted.
"Grr.." Jyou made a lunge at Koushiro, and missed by a long shot. He looked up at Koushiro's blurry image when-
FLASH! ZZP!
Koushiro held his digital camera in his hand. He took off Jyou's glasses and returned them to him, and then held up his camera proudly to Jyou.
Jyou replaced his glasses and then glared at Koushiro. "You took my picture?"
"It'll make a nice desktop theme." Koushiro snickered.
"You're so mean.." Jyou crossed his arms and hmphed. Koushiro just laughed.
"I can't believe you took my picture..." Jyou said sarcastically, although he was secretly happy Koushiro had wanted to though.
"I was just teasing you, I wasn't going to hurt your glasses.." Koushiro said gently.
"I know." Jyou nodded. He pulled out a picture from his pocket, one of him and Koushiro together as kids, arms around each other, both grinning broadly at the camera. "Just as long as I get a copy of my pictures of you."
"I know, I know, I'll email you all of them, ok?" Koushiro made clicking noises with his mouse to reinforce his point.
"Good. I'd hate to have to pry that camera from your fingers." Jyou smiled at the picture in his hand, for once being able to feel happy when he looked at the picture as opposed to lonely.
One day, while taking a break, the two had gone off near a river. They took a nap for awhile, then Koushiro pulled his prank of taking Jyou's picture. After that, the two had started to wrestle each other for the camera, taking random shots of each other. Then they started to take shots of the two posing together. Which eventually lead to shots of them kissing, hugging..
Jyou's cheeks started to burn red from the memory.
"I might make this one a logout screen." Koushiro sighed almost dreamily.
"Which one is that?"
"When you got hyper and were holding the camera a few inches from our faces while we were...you know.." Jyou could almost sense Koushiro blushing.
"Oh..." Jyou said quietly. Conversations were awkward between them now, unless there was something to talk about. Otherwise, they had no need for words anymore. Only a need to be together, only a need for each other.
After awhile they had been talking too long, and said goodnight to one another. They also whispered, very quietly to each other, their four favourite words.
"I love you, Jyou.."
"I love you, Koushiro.."
Sweet dreams, and goodnight. Do not let the prejudice bite.
Yet what if it does?
After putting the phone away, Koushiro curled up in his bed, for once happy to be in a bed as opposed to on the rough dirt ground, getting his clothes dirty, perhaps even sleeping on a rock..
That was until he'd wake up in the morning with his chin on Jyou's chest and Jyou would have an arm around him. That was very nice to wake up to in the morning.
Jyou.
Koushiro's mind started to fill with sweet dreams of his love when there was a knock on his door.
"May I come in?" the sweet voice of his mother came through it. She opened the door and sat next to Koushiro in his bed, stroking his hair.
Koushiro's shoulders arched, and although his eyes were closed his conscious was fully active.
"I'm a little surprised that you came home so soon from camp.." Mom said gently, patting his hair.
Koushiro said nothing. 'Were you expecting time to think about how to tell me I'm adopted?'
"But I'm glad, I would of missed you if you were gone for a long time.."
'I wonder if you are ever going to say anything to my face?'
"I really missed you while you were gone, even though it was only a day."
"I missed you too, Mom." Koushiro replied, yet without looking at his mother. He said it without really saying it to his mother, more like at her. 'A lot has happened..' Koushiro's thought switched to Jyou, and a suddenly longing to be back in the digiworld.
"Did you make any new friends at summer camp?"
"I did actually, five new friends and I made up with an old one." Koushiro replied with sincerity, wanting to show off the fact that he had made new friends. Also wanting to show that he was perfectly capable of making friends when he wanted to and that he was not lonely.
"An old one? Do you mean Jyou..?"
"Yes, Jyou." 'Jyou..' the name alone could bring a smile to his face. 'In such a short time...and yet it feels like we've never been apart. The feelings are so strong..'
"I'm glad, you two were always such good friends and it was sad to see you split up. Why did you split up, anyhow..?"
'Because you didn't tell me the truth and hurt me and then I in my foolishness hurt Jyou.' "We had a fight over a girl at school.."
"A girl?" Mom giggled. "Aww...someone special in your life, Koushiro?"
"She wasn't worth my best friend in the whole world." 'She was never the problem at all, and that secret was not worth my one and only love in this world..' Koushiro was glad for the cover of sheets, otherwise his "mother" would of seen him blushing.
"I'm glad...true love is nice to have but true friendship is just as important."
'I think I have both in my life...' Koushiro thought grimly. 'How strange, by losing myself I found two of the most important things in life.'
"And you and Jyou go so well together. If one of you was a girl, I'd swear you'd date each other!"
Koushiro's face turned redder than his own hair. 'If you were my real mother I would let you know how close to the truth you are.' Koushiro's gaze then saddened. 'My real mother...she already left me for one reason, the fact that I'm gay would probably be added to the list..'
"You're growing up so fast, Koushiro.."
'And I am pushing myself away from you so fast, too. However, I thought it was wise to never talk to strangers.'
"But you'll always be my special little boy.." Mom leaned down to kiss him on the cheek. "I love you..."
"I..I love you too Mom." Koushiro's replied, forcing that response out. 'How can you love a stranger?'
Mom got up and left his room. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Mom."
The door closed. Koushiro whispered to himself in the dark. "It's so strange to talk to them now...now that they are total strangers." Strangers, he was living in a house with strangers.
It was now that the loneliness of being in that house returned to him. Koushiro curled up into a ball and hugged his pillow. 'Jyou...I wish I was with you right now, in your sweet embrace..'
When Jyou had gone to return the phone to its holder, he overheard his parents and brother Shin talking.
"Now that Jyou is back, maybe we can still get him into summer school or volunteering at the hospital." The voice of his father came from the living room. Jyou sat next to his bedroom entrance and listened to the conversation.
"Well he did want to go to summer school he said.." his mother agreed with his father, as usual, never offering her own opinion. It was almost although she never had one.
"Don't you think you should ask Jyou?" Shin's voice sounded defensive, almost irritated.
"I've talked to him about this before, and this is what he wants to do."
'How do you know? You've told me what I want to do, but you've never asked me.' Jyou thought, hugging his knees to his chest.
'Koushiro didn't mind, he supported me..'
"Hey, Koushiro?" Jyou asked, his eyes were wandering over the lake.
"Yes?" Koushiro replied, the loud clicking of the keys of his keyboard as he hammered away at his keyboard was ringing in Jyou's ears.
"What do you want to do when you're older?"
The clicking of the keys stopped, and Koushiro stopped and looked up at Jyou. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, what kind of job did you want when you were older?"
"Oh. Computer Programmer." Koushiro beamed proudly. "I've wanted to be one ever since I was little."
"I know. I ask you once every year and you always say the same thing." Jyou laughed. "It suits you, your always working on your laptop anyhow."
"Yeah.." Koushiro stopped for a minute and seemed thoughtful. Then he smiled up at Jyou. "What do you want to be when you're older?"
Jyou looked away. "Promise not to laugh too hard?"
"Jyou, why would I laugh..?" Koushiro asked gently. Jyou at first said it softly, too soft for Koushiro to hear, then looked Koushiro in the eyes and said it again.
"A marine biologist."
Koushiro grinned. "Studying water and water animals?"
"Stupid, huh?"
"No." Koushiro closed up his laptop and sat closer to Jyou. "I don't think it's stupid, I just think it suits you."
"A scientist. That's prodigious!"
Jyou got that sentimental look in his eyes. "Do you mean that, or are you just being nice to me..?"
"Of course I mean it. Maybe you can help me understand underwater digimon better..."
Jyou suddenly threw his arms around Koushiro and hugged him tight. Koushiro was surprised by the sudden affection however returned the hug happily.
"Not that I mind but why so sudden?" Koushiro questioned when Jyou pulled away.
"My dad..even my older brother thought it was stupid. Mom, she didn't even say anything.." Jyou said miserably, hurt from his family showing in his eyes.
"If that's what you want to do, then I'm behind you 100%!" Koushiro smiled. "Besides, scientists are needed in this world. Also it's amazing how creatures live underwater.."
This led to the two having a conversation about marine animals, living underwater, water type digimon, and other related topics.
Once again, they had run out of words and Jyou was sitting there with his arm around Koushiro, holding him close. He kissed the top of Koushiro's head. "Thanks, Koushiro."
"For what?" Koushiro snuggled his head under Jyou's chin comfortably.
"For supporting me on my dream." Jyou squeezed Koushiro gently. "It means a lot to me.."
"As long as your happy, Jyou, that is what matters." Koushiro hugged Jyou. "I'd support you even if you wanted to be a puppeteer!"
"A puppeteer?" Jyou replied, then started to giggle. "Oh yeah, I'll make digimon puppets."
The two laughed at the joke and had another entertaining conversation about mock jobs they could do in their futures.
'I think I fell more in love with him that day when he told me he believed in me..' Jyou squeezed his knees, suddenly wishing that his knees were Koushiro.
"Better to be doctor and be something useful in the world as opposed to something absurd such as a marine biologist. Who cares about sea animals anyhow?" Dad said, disappointment with his son's decision being obvious in his voice.
'I do..' Jyou thought.
"It might not be absurd to him, though." Shin brought up a good point.
'Why are you defending me now? You laughed in my face just like he did.'
"Don't be silly. He'll thank me when he's older and a successful business man." Dad's voice was final, making the final decision. The conversation was over and there was nothing to be discussed.
'By Dad's way, I have to be a doctor like he wants. Whether I like it or not..' Jyou buried his head in his knees, a sudden longing to hold Koushiro burned his arms, and for once missing being chased around by wild digimon while being in the digital world.
Jyou crawled into his bed and slipped off his glasses, glad to retreat to a world of slumber in his nice soft bed. 'Koushiro...the grass irritated my sinuses, our lives were in danger more than once, and man did my feet kill after a day of walking. However compared to being without you right now, I think I'd rather be suffering and being with you instead of suffering and being without you..'
The next morning when Koushiro woke up, his first instinct was to turn on his laptop and check his e-mail. Doing so, he soon found the appetizing smell of waffles drift to his nose. Waffles, his personal favourite.
At first he fought off the urge to go eat the pancakes ravenously and check his e-mail, however soon gave into the appetizing smell. So much for prioritizing.
He walked groggily into the kitchen with his nose leading the way. When he finally opened his eyes he saw his mother smiling at him, setting a plate down at the table with a glass of milk and offering the maple syrup. "Ohayo, Koushiro!"
"Ohayo!" Koushiro smiled brightly, taking a seat at the table. He looked down at the waffles and saw that they were made with chocolate chips, and that there was whip cream around the sides, and there were chocolate chips on top which spelt out: "I love you, Koushiro."
Koushiro sniffed and wiped his eyes. He turned to his mother and gave her a big, sincere hug. "I love you too, Mom!"
Mom returned the hug, patting his hair and giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Then Koushiro returned his attention to the waffles and started to dig in. "Delicious!" he chirped happily as he ate. 'I never cared that Jyou and I weren't really related and I still called him nii-chan...' Koushiro took a big bite into the chocolate chips with whip cream waffles. 'So I shouldn't care if we're really related or not, my mom is still my mom.'
'I was so stressed over this for the past few years and I didn't realize that until now..' Koushiro fought back tears as he ate his favourite food in the world happily.
Koushiro's mother rubbed his back as he ate, smiling at him. She knew more than what Koushiro realized..
Jyou got up groggily, at first rubbing at his eyes and then putting his glasses on. He picked up one of the few things he treasured in his life, his watch, off his dresser and blinked at it.
"8:00 am? I'm waking up early during the summer..?" Jyou wondered to himself as he got up and walked into the kitchen. His mom and dad were there, drinking coffee, reading the newspaper, doing the usual routine. It was almost time for his father to head into work, which was why he was busy studying the paper now.
Jyou made himself two pieces of toast, smeared them with jelly and peanut butter, then sat down with his parents and started to chew quietly.
"Jyou?" His father's voice startled him so that he started to choke. After a few minutes of choking on his food, he coughed and cleared his throat. "Y..yeah..?"
"Did you want to go to summer school now that summer camp has been cancelled?" His father looked him in the eyes seriously. Once again, he could easily see that his father was implying what he wanted him to do.
"No, not really." Jyou replied quietly. 'Now I have something to do with my summer, and time to spend with someone.'
"Oh, why not...?" His mother spoke up, supporting her husband.
'Why is that so typical of you to play follow the leader, mom..' Jyou thought bitterly. "I've made some new friends at summer camp, some really good friends. I was kind of hoping of spending the rest of summer vacation with them since they all live nearby."
"Don't you want to advance your medical studies, Jyou?" Father asked again, narrowing his eyes.
"I'm still 12, there's plenty of time to finish my studies." Jyou replied, looking his father in the eyes. 'What medical studies? Don't you mean YOUR medical studies?'
"He has a point..." Mother said, returning to drinking her coffee.
Father got up and wiped his mouth. "Time for work, bye honey." He kissed his wife on the cheek and then patted Jyou's shoulder. "Bye, son."
"Bye, father." Jyou replied a little coldly. 'If I were really your son you'd respect my wishes, I should think..'
Jyou finished his toast and got up from the table. He put his plate away and then returned to his room, pulling on his clothes, and then decided what he wanted to do as his first official day back at the real world.
Koushiro was checking his e-mail, and for once did not feel so drawn into it. He was smiling, for once, everything in his life was going perfectly. He had not made up with his father, however, he was happy to be back in communication with his mother. She was his mother, no questions asked. Then there was Jyou..
Koushiro blushed as he created a new desktop theme for his laptop, with Jyou's picture being the new image on his monitor screen, and with a picture of them kissing as a logout screen. The screensaver was now a clip show of all the picture showing up at random intervals.
Just as he was about to further the remodelling of his laptop, his mother came into his room and handed him the phone. Koushiro smiled at her as he took it from her, mouthing "who is it?"
"Jyou." She mouthed back, looking at Koushiro's computer screen.
"Ohayo!" Koushiro said brightly, not realizing that his mother was looking at his computer screen.
"Ohayo." the sweetest voice in the world, next to that of his mother's, came out through the speaker on the phone. "How're you?"
"Great!" Koushiro replied, looking at the screen, so caught up in his happiness that he did not realize that his mother was still there looking at the laptop screen.
"It's great to hear you so happy! Did you want to go out today?" Jyou replied, his own tone matching the happiness in Koushiro's voice.
"You make it sound like a date, Jyou." Koushiro giggled.
"Uh..well...uhm..." Koushiro could easily envision Jyou's cute blushing face right now.
"I'd love to!" Koushiro replied with a smile. 'And I love you, too..'
"Great! Meet you at the park, near the bridge?"
"I'll see you there." *click* Koushiro returned the phone to his mother who had stayed by his side the whole time. "Is it alright if I go to see Jyou?"
"Of course." she smiled lovingly. "As long as you come back by dinnertime. Also, if you two feel hungry be sure to come back here and I'll make you some lunch, ok?"
"Ok, mom. Thanks!" Koushiro quickly turned off his computer and packed it in his bag with his digital camera. He then hugged his mother goodbye and raced out of the door, eager to see Jyou.
Koushiro's mother watched him as he left, her smile never leaving her face. "I always knew, somehow, in the back of my mind..." she thought for a minute, then walked into her room and pulled a special picture out of her jewellery box. It was a picture of Jyou holding baby Koushiro when they first meet, the two both grinning away with some blocks in the background. She looked at the picture lovingly. "I always knew you two would be together, as friends and lovers." There was a view of gentle white teeth as she sat down on her bed. "And even now, I have never been happier for them. They are so perfect for one another, Jyou being reliable, steady and strong, and Koushiro bringing the kind of love that Jyou needs in his life to him."
She placed the picture back in it's box and resumed her daily motherly chores. She had always known that Jyou and Koushiro were in love, and was happy that the two had finally embraced that love, for love is never a thing to be taken for granted. Her memory flicked back to the image on Koushiro's computer screen, of the two boys caught in an embrace and kissing.
Mrs.Izumi smiled a motherly smile, and continued with life with a new note in it. A new, bright and happy note.
The two boys had met up at the park, and for awhile lingered there. Then when it became quiet they went window shopping, more for the sake of doing things together than actually shopping. Jyou had a hard time pulling Koushiro away from the keyboards of computers for sale at the computer shops and Koushiro had fun peeling Jyou's face off the fish tanks at the pet shops.
When they were hungry, upon Koushiro's request, returned to his house to eat and Mrs.Izumi greetly Jyou with a warm hug which he returned happily. He was not sure of his own mother's love for him, yet was happy that Koushiro's mother was so accepting of him. 'Maybe, when we tell them, they won't mind...well at least maybe Mrs.Izumi won't..' Jyou thought.
Then, determined to have his pictures, Jyou dragged Koushiro back to his house, laptop and all.
"I can't believe you actually made that picture the desktop.." Jyou blushed as Koushiro powered up his laptop in his room, smiling broadly at the picture. It was Jyou, furious and blind pointing dangerously at the screen.
"It's cheerful to look at." Koushiro replied, smiling at Jyou. Jyou crossed his arms and humphed.
The screen of his own computer beeped at Jyou when the digital camera had finished uploading the pictures unto his hard disk. It did not take him long to quickly glimpse through the pictures, until he had found the one he was looking for. He clicked on it and enlarged it. "Well, here's my new desktop." Jyou announced, taunting Koushiro. Koushiro looked up and blushed.
It was a picture of Koushiro with his mouth wide open, yelling. His eyebrows were furrowed and his face was angry. Although his face was angry, his eyes showed pure happiness, and even his wide open mouth had the curve of a smile.
"That picture..my mouth was wide enough to attract flies.." Koushiro grumbled as he watched Jyou save it as a desktop.
"There's more where that came from, too..." Jyou chuckled as he went through and adjusted all the screens. His new screen saver was in the same fashion of Koushiro's, only they were pictures of angry Koushiro chasing him, pointing at him threateningly, and at one point sticking out his tongue.
Koushiro, not enjoying the embarrassment, started to race through the picture, changing his screen saver to match Jyou's style of torture, with shots of angry, blind Jyou.
Soon it was a race between the two boys, who could find the most embarassing pictures of the other the fastest.
However, the race came to a halt when Jyou stopped to stare at his screen for a moment. Koushiro looked up at Jyou when he hard the mad clicking of the mouse had stopped, and he too admired the image on Jyou's screen for a moment.
It was a rather cozy picture. Koushiro was underneath him, his arms up around Jyou's waist, holding him close. Jyou, meanwhile, was hovered over Koushiro, kissing him with one arm around Koushiro's shoulders with the other around his waist. There was a deep blush in the boys' cheeks in the image, which was the same with the actual boys looking at the picture now.
Jyou turned to Koushiro, smiling mysteriously. Koushiro nodded silently, not needing to be told what was on Jyou's mind. He went over and sat on Jyou's bed, feeling somewhat hyper and, for some reason, slightly anxious. His anxiousness increased when he saw Jyou walk over to his door, and almost jumped when he heard the click of the lock.
Jyou joined Koushiro on the bed and wrapped his arms around him, kissing him softly on the lips.
Jyou's father was watching television, when a program about aspiring young doctors came on.
Koushiro wrapped his arms around Jyou's waist, returning the kiss passionately.
The program was advertising a summer camp which was starting in two weeks that was aimed towards people 10 to 14 who wanted to be doctors.
Koushiro leaned back slowly and pulled Jyou with him, his head on Jyou's pillow, his lips still preoccupied with Jyou's own.
At this summer camp, young people could start a biology course focusing on the human body and its functions, along with diseases and genetics. It also taught about kinds of medications and basic first aid.
Jyou reached an arm underneath Koushiro's back and his hand touched the back of Koushiro's head, stroking the fuzzy red hair. His other arm wrapped itself around Koushiro's waist.
The summer camp was a four year program. Where, for four summer vacations, children could come back and further their learning, while having fun at the same time with outdoor activities and free time to socialize. After the four year program, when they were old enough, the children who had attended could write an entry exam into a medical university and receive a one year scholarship.
The two boys suddenly became aware of a selfish, dark wish that existed within both their hearts. A sudden desire, just for that moment, to be only with each other, to never have anyone every interrupt them or stop them from being with each other.
Jyou's father picked up a pen and paper, writing the number to call down in his notepad.
Jyou's lips started to wander over Koushiro's cheek, then found their way down to Koushiro's ear. Before Jyou realized it, he had kissed the junction between Koushiro's jawbone and his earlope. That kiss sent a very pleasant shudder up Koushiro's spine.
'This will be a great opportunity for Jyou.' Jyou's father got up from his seat and turned in the direction of Jyou's room.
Jyou's gentle breath against his neck was tickling him, as his mind raced to understand the strange new sensation. Jyou pulled away from his closeness and looked down at Koushiro, a deep line of crimson in his cheeks. Koushiro's cheeks had it's own line of crimson, and for a moment the two boys stared at each other dumbly. Then their bodies found that even that little space between them was too much of a distance...
Jyou's father took steps towards Jyou's room. He stopped and tried to open the door, however he found it locked.
Jyou closed his eyes and kissed Koushiro again on the lips, with Koushiro's lips returning the kiss with full emotion. They held each other tighter as they became aware of a raw hunger that existed in them, a hunger to feel and touch each other..
Jyou's father pulled out a key and placed it in the lock in Jyou's doorknob.
Jyou's father opened the door to Jyou's room and his jaw dropped in shock.
For there on the bed was Jyou ontop of Koushiro and they were KISSING!
"JYOU! KOUSHIRO!" he bellowed storming over to the pair.
Jyou instantly pulled away from Koushiro and stared up in his father in shock. "F-father! What are you doing here in my room without permission..?"
"WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING ON THE BED LIKE THAT?!!?!"
"I...I uh..." Jyou stammered, swallowing hard. Koushiro had a look of horror on his face as Jyou's father slapped Jyou.
"HEY! You leave him alone!" Koushiro yelled in Jyou's defence.
Jyou's father turned on Koushiro and picked him up by the scruff of his shirt, lifting him off the bed. Jyou held his sore cheek in shock as he could only gape at his father and Koushiro.
"You get out of here NOW, Koushiro Izumi!!" Jyou's father yelled in Koushiro's face as he dropped him to the ground.
Koushiro's eyes flicked over to Jyou, pleading. Jyou was shaking and did not return the gaze. With a sob, Koushiro grabbed his laptop and his camera and ran out of the Kido household.
Jyou's father stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut.
When Jyou had finally realized what had happened, he started to sob. "Koushiro...I'm so sorry..."
Koushiro was running in the rain, towards his house, towards his mother's comforting arms. "Jyou..I thought you loved me. You said you'd do anything for me.."
"So why didn't you stand up to your father?"
That night, rain poured on the city of Tokyo, however was no match for the sobbing of two lonely boys, their hearts breaking and their dreams shattering as truth cut like a knife.
