...RIGHT

Anyhow, you see, remember that scene in part 3 of Poltergeist where Yamato and Taichi run off and come back awhile later? Well, it's obvious that the conversation with the group wouldn't go over so easily, so this is what happened.

"SHUTUP!!!!" Jyou suddenly exclaimed, clasping his hands over his ears, losing his control, not being able to take it anymore. All eyes turned to Jyou as he blushed and realized he had yelled out loud.

"Why don't you shut up and stay out of this, Jyou?!" Taichi yelled back. Jyou got up and walked to the two.

"I am so sick of listening to you two argue all the time! If you want to explore both paths so badly Taichi and if you want everyone to stay together Yamato, why don't we just take a run down both paths altogether!!" Jyou's normally gentle and cowardly nature disappeared.

Koushiro was looking up in disbelief at Jyou's sudden outbreak.

"Why can't you two ever come to a compromise? It's so easy to do and it always seems to fly right past you two!" Jyou continued, his frustration refusing to stay dormant. "I get such a headache from listening to you two go at it-"

"You're ALWAYS complaining, Jyou! What else is new if you have something depressing to say?!" Yamato said defensively.

"-and we all get tired of having to wait around while you two fight! This isn't a game, this is serious, we could all be hurt or worse out here in this insane world, and you two are too busy with yourselves to remember that!"

Yamato and Taichi's mouths widened a little as Jyou hit a mark.

"Why don't you just admit to being in love with one another and stop using this dumb arguments as an excuse to vent your frustration! There's more people than you two here!!!" Jyou's final blow was dealt.

Taichi and Yamato's faces turned a dark crimson as reality hit them, and as tears threatened to flow from their secret being revealed. Jyou's face fell in horror as he realized what he had done.

"I-I'm-" Yamato suddenly bolted into a run, down one path all on his own. Taichi called after him then turned to Jyou.

"How COULD you?!" Taichi said angrily, punching Jyou swiftly and painfully in the stomach as he tore after Yamato, calling his name.

Jyou's knees buckled underneath him and he fell to the ground, clutching his stomach, his guilt hurting more than his physical pain.

He had to run, run far. Far away from the group. Far away from Takeru. Far away from Taichi. Far away from the truth...
He turned to bolt away from everyone, and as he did he heard Taichi call his name. 'I'm sorry, Taichi..' Yamato thought sadly as he ran away, tears flowing from his cheeks.

"That stupid jerk, why did he have to go and say something like that?!" Taichi ran down the path after Yamato, with Agumon and Gabumon at his heels.
"Yamato, wait for us!" Gabumon called out desperately.
"Slow down, Taichi!" Agumon pleaded with Taichi.
"No." Taichi replied, his pace started to pick up. 'I have to find Yamato, otherwise he might leave the group..'
Taichi's feet started to go faster than the thoughts that were going through his head. 'And he might leave me..'
Taichi squashed tears that threatened to spill over his eyes and continued to run. He had to find Yamato and made sure he was ok, then he could cry.

Yamato ran until he reached a dead-end. The path ahead was overgrown with weeds, grass, and trees. He collapsed to his knees and started to sob. 'Why..do I feel this way..'
'Why did any of this happen? I wasn't supposed to be destined, I wasn't supposed to go to summer camp, I wasn't supposed to make friends...'
'And I wasn't supposed to fall in love! Especially not with a boy. Especially not with Taichi..'
The sobs grew louder as he said out loud to himself. "But I did anyway.."

Taichi caught up to Yamato just in time to here "But I did anyway".

There was no need to ask what Yamato meant, for he had a pretty good idea of what Yamato meant.

He stepped right up behind Yamato yet made no effort to touch Yamato.

There was no need for him to turn around, for he knew who was there. "Taichi.."
"Yeah..?" Taichi replied softly.
"What...do we do now?" Yamato asked, wanting an answer, wanting to be told what to do, wanting to not have to make the decision himself.
"I....." Taichi for a brief instant had the answer to all their problems, however it vanished from his mind again.

Yamato sat up against a tree, playing his harmonica with his favourite sad tune, the tears freely roaming down his cheeks starting to dry up. Gabumon sat next to him, remaining silent, staying near Yamato while giving him the space that he needed right now. Taichi sat against a rock nearby, with Agumon next to him. He arms were crossed over his knees and his head was bowed in thought, trying to think of something to say, something to do..
For once, the ever sure, ever positive leader did not have a clue.

The gentle, sad music came to a stop as Yamato lowered the harmonica from his lips slowly, returning it to his pocket. He let out a sigh as he asked his question from earlier.
"What do we do now, Taichi..?"
"I don't know.." Taichi replied sadly.
"We have to tell them, now. After Jyou.."
"Blurted it out like that." Taichi hit the ground with an angry fist. "It was bad enough that he told them but even worse that he did it so bluntly!!"
"Like you would of put it any better...?" Yamato attempted to lighten the mood with that remark, however caused it to only get darker.
Some silence ensued. Silence. By now they were used to silence, and now they could no longer stand it.
Taichi finally came up with two choices, two solutions, both promising heartache.
"I think..that we have two options here.." Taichi said slowly, swallowing painfully.
"Which are..?" Yamato asked quietly, afraid of the solutions Taichi had come up with due to the pain in Taichi's voice.
"Either we go back and we tell them how we feel, or.." Taichi could not look Yamato in the eyes.
"Or..?" Yamato tried to look into Taichi's eyes for warmth, for love, for security, yet Taichi would not look at him. 'Is he ashamed of me now..?'
"Or we end this right here, right now, walk back to camp and call Jyou a liar then pretend that nothing's ever happened." Taichi shut his eyes away from Yamato and looked away, not wanting to affect Yamato's decision in any way through guilt, and not wanting Yamato to see the tears that now slid down his cheeks.
"Wha..what do you think we should do, then?" Yamato asked, looking to the ground. 'Just go back to normal, act cool, say nothing ever happened and deny our feelings forever..'
"It's up to you.." Taichi said emotionlessly, not looking in Yamato's eyes. Not wanting to see the decision before it was said.
Yamato brought his knees up to his chin and buried his head in them. 'To live without Taichi for the rest of my life...' Yamato sighed. 'Or to be honest and face rejection from everyone for the rest of my life..'
'It's up to him..' Taichi thought miserably. 'If..if he wants to leave me he can go ahead.' Taichi sniffed and rubbed at his eyes. 'It's not like I have to accept or like it though..'
The silence that ensued had to be the longest, cruellest silence ever to be known. However, this decision required deep thinking, and in order to think deeply one needed to be able to hear one's self.

Yamato lifted his head and stood up, then walked over to Taichi. He stood in front of him and took a deep breath.
"Taichi?"
Taichi did not want to look up at Yamato. He was too in fear of Yamato choosing to make things better for Takeru than wanting to be with him. His eyes stayed glued to the ground as he replied sadly. "Yeah...?"
Yamato smiled gently, then knelt down and grabbed Taichi's hand, stroking it gently with his fingers. "I think, I think we should tell them, Taichi."
Taichi's eyes looked up at the crest around Yamato's throat. 'The crest of friendship, it suits him better than what he thinks..'
"If they're really our friends, then they'll understand how we feel." Yamato said softly, leaning forward and kissing Taichi lovingly on the lips.
Taichi was at first a bit surprised, and then returned the kiss happily, wrapping his arms around Yamato. When they pulled away, his arms were still around Yamato. "You're right..if they're really our friends..they'll accept us.."
The two boys got up, and hand in hand, started to walk back towards where they had left the others with their digimon trailing behind them. The digimon were still confused, however were happy to see that the boys were happy again.

Later that night, Taichi and Yamato did come back, and the group finally found out the truth about their relationship.

The others were silent, the news was shocking. They could not decide if they were disgusted with their friends or happy for their friends.

The silence that followed the confessions from the two boys seemed endless.
"How long...has this been going on?" Sora asked softly, trying very hard not to give in to the sadness in her heart.
"About..." Yamato trailed off, still feeling uncomfortable about admitting this to T.K, who, so far, had said nothing.
"Ever since summer camp..." Taichi blushed at Sora's shocked gaze.
"All this time, you two have been in love?" Mimi stated the obvious.
"Y..yeah.." Yamato nodded. Now it was time for the judging, time for the friends to decide what they thought of it.

Silence. After awhile of it, Yamato was getting nervous that his perfect hair would fall out of place and Taichi was wondering who the new leader was going to be.

"It's a good thing though, isn't it?" Takeru was the first to speak up.
"Huh..?" The others said softly, pulled from their musing.
"Mom always told me that when two people fall in love and if they really mean it, that you should be happy for them. It doesn't matter how old you are, just how honest you are about your feelings, right?"
"Yeah...that's right. Mom did say that..." Yamato said softly, relieved at Takeru's acceptance.
"So what's the big deal? You're being honest, right?" Takeru smiled. "I'm glad you're happy again, onii-chan." Takeru walked over to his brother and gave him a hug.
Yamato hugged Takeru back tightly. "Thank you, Takeru.."
Taichi smiled. 'I think he was more worried about Takeru than anybody, it's a good thing Takeru is so young. But the idea will grow on him....I hope..'
"That...that's right." Mimi spoke up. "Your still our friends, regardless of your relationship, so that's what matters, right?"
"You're right, Mimi. That is what matters." Sora said softly, sadness lurking in her eyes.
Koushiro, from his corner away from the group added in his fair share. "As long as you keep your romantic acts private, then your relationship is fine with me." It was only a matter of fact for Koushiro, he did not want to be viewing kissing between boys and girls or boys and boys. Unless it was his own relationship, of course. A thought which made the computer whiz kid blush.
"Thanks, everyone, for understanding." Taichi said soflty.
"Hey, why don't we make a promise?" Takeru smiled his little angelic smile again.
(MK: SUGOI! Takeru is just too kawaii!)
"A promise..?" Mimi wondered.
"Yeah...let's promise to be friends forever, no matter what." Takeru held out his hand.
"No matter what.." Sora said, placing her hand over Takeru's. The others followed suite, minus Koushiro and Jyou, however they could be sworn in later.

That night, the crest of friendship shone brightly as a new threat was born.
